Jessica Bonacini is Matthews Steer's Employee of the Year
Jessica Bonacini was named employee of the year at Matthews Steer’s annual Recognise, Encourage, Reward (RER) awards night at the RACV Club on July 29.
Jessica, who earlier in the night was recognised for her Career Path Progression from Senior Accountant to Supervisor, has been a member of our team since November 2011. The Employee of the Year Award recognises Jessica’s performance and commitment over the past year.
“Jessica has been an exemplary employee since she started at Matthews Steer as an accountant,” said Managing Partner Ken Matthews. “We’ve seen outstanding personal and professional development in Jess over the years, and this award is fitting recognition for the progress she has made at the firm.”
Jessica has taken on a number of additional responsibilities in the past year, including taking an active roles in our Women In Business program, our graduate training program and in managing client relationships. “I’m delighted we are acknowledging Jess’ proactive approach to her career, our business and our clients in this way,” said Ken.
Belinda Torr, was recognised as Matthews Steer’s Rising Star of the year for her overall performance and commitment to improvement, and Paul Zielke took home the award in the category of ‘Contribution to Community’.
Matthews Steer’s RER Awards celebrates achievement at the highest level within our team, recognising outstanding achievement in professional and personal development. The recipients of the 'Employee of the Year,’ 'Contribution to the Community,' and 'MS Rising Star' awards are selected by our executive team.
The RER event also recognises career progression and promotions, and presents a selection of peer-voted awards.
This year the head of our Business Advisory division Stephen Wooster, was recognised for his promotion to partner and for achieving a milestone 10 years’ service with Matthews Steer, and Charith Mandadige was recognised for his promotion to Associate.
Nidal Mazloum was awarded for his Contribution to Culture, recognising, among other things, his willingness to share knowledge, coach colleagues and work as a team player and his innovative, proactive passionate approach to his role at Matthews Steer.
Meanwhile Andrew Ruberto was presented with the ‘Most Significant Personal Growth’ award for his willingness to learn and accept additional responsibility, and his proactive pursuit of his career aspirations.
